Maryland Legislature Enacts Sales & Use Tax on Digital Goods
Pursuant to House Bill 932, the State of Maryland has passed legislation that will change the taxability of Digital Products, Software, SaaS and Online Entertainment. Effective March 14, 2021, the sale and purchases of these items in the State of Maryland will be subject to the State’s Sales & Use Tax.
The Comptroller’s Office has issued guidance in the form of a Maryland Tax Tip that can be found here.
